What is the difference?

Post by Lisa B »

Hi there,

I have recently borught a VW polo to replace my Mk2 Golf 1.6 Driver. I have a question for you:

What is the difference between a VW Polo 6N and a VW Polo 9N?

Sorry if it is a really dumb question, but I'm not all too familiar on the polo, all my time and effort had gone onto researching the Golf.

Thanks for your time.

Lisa

Hi and welcome!

The 6N is the previous generation Polo (and the 6N2 being the 'facelift' model with different lights etc). I *think* the 6N went up to a V reg and the 6N2 went up to the 51 plate, not 100% sure.

The 9N is the new shape Polo that's still being made and is the one with the round lights at the front and the rattles!

Hello there! :D

Thank you all for replying. I'm picking up my polo tomorrow, its an R-reg, 1.4 8v in Platimum Silver. Therefore for what you guys are saying, I'm assuming its a 6N.

Thanks for all the welcomes too. I can see that I'll be using this forum a lot in the near future for lots of advice. I apologise again if it was a really silly question, but I'm in the process of learning, and have already seen something I wanna get for the interior of my 6N polo 8)

Lisa.

There are no silly questions!

A while back I wouldn't have known either.
