16" alloys 195/45/16

Post by djviruz »

hey, u alrite all. basicly im looking to get 16" alloys. need some help on deciding on which ones to get:

1.16 Inch Lenso RS5 Silver & Mirror Lip
2.16 Inch Wolfrace Pro Sprint Black
3.16 Inch Bellini Condor Black Chrome
4.16 Inch Mito T1R Bright Silver

got a silver polo so need help deciding, im think about the first two.

Another question i have is once i get the alloys, its at the standard height and i dont wanna lower the car so im thinking of getting 195/45/16 tyres. will that look ok. has anyone done that who has pics and will i have any problems like rubbing in reverse etc in those tyres. i normally have 4 people in my car so i dunno if that will be a problem.

The other option will be just gettin 15" and getting 195/45/15 tyres.

I'd appreciate any picture people have of those alloys and any comments to happy me out.

Cheers.

Welcome to the site mate.

For aynone wondering what they look like:

Lenso

Wolfrace

Bellini Condor

Mito T1R

I personally don't like any of them, if your into the big five spoke thing, I'd recommend maybe:

Borbet As

Keskin KT5s

RH Toplines (my personnal preference)

And I'd look at 195/40/16s, They'll look alot better, won't rub, and won't stand any chance of possibly knocking your speedo out a tad.

I think Tim did answer your tyre question!
And I'd look at 195/40/16s, They'll look alot better, won't rub, and won't stand any chance of possibly knocking your speedo out a tad.
And I would second what Tim said about getting 195/40/16s, not 45 profiles.

As for the wheels, the Bellini's aren't bad, not really a fan of any of the others.

At standard height with a full car, you may get rubbing with 45s yeh. I couldnt be sure though.

If you haven't got them already, there's nothing stopping you buying 40s! Websites may advertise the wheels with just 45, but jsut phone them up and ask specifically for 195/40s, if they're funny about it they're not worth the hassle.

The answer is yes. Mine burned through arch liners!

could you post the photos please. cheers for that. so i should get 195/40/16 to avoid any problem. But then ill have to lower it coz it will look to high.
Has anyone got pictures of their polo on 16"s without it being lowered.

Maybe i should jus go with 195/45/15 15".

To be honest mate, IMO it'll always look like it'll need lowering. Getting larger tyres won't disguise that. Nor will getting 15s.

The 6N2 generally is a ridiculously high car.

Tim is rite you wouldent be able to make it look lower by putting bigger tyres or wheels....

plus if you go for 195/40 the speedo will not be wrong....

Bellini are the only ones I really think are ok from that list..

Springs dont cost 2 much rheys days any way so worth looking in to..

195/40 all the way

Post by charliec125 »

Dude if your worried about rubbing then get a 195/40 thats wat i have it doesnt lower ur car much more than a 45 but they tyre is further away from the arches,
mine does rub but only cos my car is dropped 60mm,and its only wen i go over 40!
Also wit the 195/40 youll get a little bit of stretch too ;)
