Boot lock not working
My boot wont unlock when I operate the central locking but it will unlock if I use the key. Has anyone had this problem before? Its a Mk 4 16V.
your problem is commpn i had it before, mine was caused by water getting in i think.
open the boot, unscrew the securing screw and pull off the panel (comes off very easily) starting from the upper part which is where the clips are. now use your central locking and watch the locking rod you will find it has got stuck in locked you can manually change it.
however this problem may reoccur, if you use wd40 or ideally graphite on it to give it a asmoother action and help it along
ideally you should take of the pump(white box) and clean it out this is pretty easy and once you get in there you will be able to see the problem.
