Hey guys any1 put a new clutch flywheel into the Polo GTI? If so can I have details and or links please.

yes scrap the original and fit a g60 fly and vr6 clutch! :lol:

ok mate do u have part numbers etc as i have been told the thrust bearing on the polo is different from other 1.8t trannys

Sorry to bump up an old thread, But i have been lead to believe something has to be done to the VR6 clutch to get it to fit in our polo's. Something to do with the throw out bearing. Can anyone shead some light on this please.

i know a guy from usa that can sort this as im running uprated clutch and flywheel

thanks mate but ive sorced one from australia, if he could provide me or my mechanic with the info necessary that would be great.

ok but you dont need to mod anything if the one you have got will not fit then its wrong ive got a spec setup it came with everything inc bearing

OH ok, there is a mechanic over here that has bought one like the ecs stage one clutch kit and did something to the throwout bearing to make it fit the polo. but he only wants to do it if he supplies it.

Thanks mate. But what I really want to know is, is the vr6 clutch a straight fit and if not what needs to be done.

In that link a stage 1 clutch would set me back over 1400 for a 2002 Vw polo.

all i can tell you is that mine was spec kit no modding just fitted with no problems

cheers mate, Heard from the mechanic today apparently you need a genuine thrust (throwout) bearing. ill let you know when i have mine put in.
