hi there guys i have a w reg polo se 1.4 and im having some trouble with the base idle level. while at a stand still it's only about 500 rpm and feels very rough and when u come to stop it will stall about 90% of the time. ive heard it could be the lambda sensor but was woundering if any one else has any ideas? also i am geting water in on the passenger side front and back foot wells ive taken a look at the door seals but there is no obvious tears or holes?
if any one has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated thanks alot.

thanks for that i took a look under the panel and it was blocked up with leaves and gunk so i hovered it out so hopefully that will help. as for having the throttle body cleaned is this an expensive job ? cheers.alexperkins wrote:Temperature sensor and a throttle body clean should fix that buddy!
The leak is due to the pollen filter being blocked - check it out under the scuttle panel which is below the wipers outside the car. It blocks up with leaves and flows back into the fan system and comes out all over the floor.

Wynns Fuel Intake and Carb cleaner from Halfords - its £4.99 and is a purple can, with a purple cap
Take off the airbox, start the engine, get someone to rev the engine to about 4-5k rpm and keep it there. Spray the cleaner directly into the throttle body till you have used about half the can then take the car out for a good fast spin afterwards
