VW Polo 1.6cl

Post by jackotom »

Hi, i own a 2000 vw polo 1.6cl which has only done 46000miles, the car has been stood a while and i decided to get it up and runnung again, the car starts fine but sounds abit noisy fron the top of the engine when on tickover and when you rev it. does anyone know if this model has hydraulic tappets or could i adjust them myself? also what milage should i have the cam belt changed?
thanks dave.

Cambelt at 60,000.

Try putting some engine flush through it and then do an oil change. The tappets are hydraulic I believe. The flush shold do it some good.

Hydraulic Tappets only excessively rattle when they have no oil .. or very low oil in the car.
