mk5 golf gti wheels on 6n2, can it be done?

Post by narkotiq »

whats happnin fellas...

i'm a newb here, i'm gonna be buying a polo 6n2 next week (my first car!!!)

by brother has offered me the wheels from his mark 5 golf gti at a rediculously low price and feel i can't pass the offer up. the wheels are the same as the ones on this bad boy...

Image

iwas wondering if it is possible to put these on a polo 6n2? like is there a special wheel adapter kit available to do the job, and would it be expensive?

any help would be grealty appreciated.

forums lookin great.

thanks!!!!!

I'm pretty sure those wheels only come in 18" in which case they wont fit cuz they will be too big and you would get alot of scraping. I've got 16" fitted on my 6n2 and the wheels just barely miss in the inner arches on full lock! So i doubt they would fit m8.

You'd need a 4X100 to 5X112 adaptor kit, probably cost around £150-200 for a decent kit.

Those wheels are way way too big for the 6N2 though, they simply wouldn't fit under the arches. Biggest you can go is 16" I'm afraid (strong matter of oppinion, 17s do actually fit also).

im sure ive seen some 16" replicas of these wheels on the net

but still only come in 5 stud so you would need the adaptors as gti tim said

You can get official 16" Monzas, they come on the new Polo GTi. Not in the same finish though.

WONT FIT.

i was driving behind a golf gti once and couldnt help notice the girth of those wheels. they must be at least 8.5J wide.

18x8.5 - no way, i can just about run 15x8 without rubbing

I had 17s on mine i had to do a bit of messing around with the iinner arches. But anything is possible reeli just takes time and money. but if u dont want problems with scrapin no point going any higher than 16"

I disagree, I dont think the Monzas work with the 6N2. Not having them in the correct size doesn't help either.
