Hi there all.
I'm having a problem with my car which is a bit of a mystery. It's running well at the moment and starts on the first turn but the other day driving along the motorwayit just died. No warning, the engine just stopped. I had to trundle to a stop on the hard sholder. At first I thought it was an air bubble in the fuel system or a blockage so I wobbled the car a bit to try and clear air pockets in the tank. This didn't work but after a few minutes the engine started as normal. I started off and carried on for a few minutes then it did it again!!. As before it started up fine after a few minutes but stopped again after a few minutes.
I got recovered and the guy thought it was the ignition coil as did the garage. I had it replaced (£80 for the part) and thought that had sorted it.
However, it did it again exactly the same this weekend with the new coil. I'm wondering whether its the emobiliser or that my mobile phone has buggered my key.
Anybody heard of a similar situation?

I recently had the same part replaced. (same price)
I have had a few problems with warm starts
and cutting out at low revs.
I cleaned the throttle body by removing it
from the engine and cleaning it with carb cleaner,
that seemed to eliminate the cutting out at low revs.
The warm start problem is slowly coming back
so I am going to have a look if it's all gunked up again.
The problem is the engine breather pipe dumping all
the crap out of the engine into the throttle.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I did take off the filler cap to release air from the tank the first time it went. As for low revs stalling, this doesn't seem to bee the problem as the the first few times it cut out at 70mph and the last time was at around 50mph.
It seems to be a lack of spark rather than a fuel issue.
Cheers anyway. I'll keep you posted.
