Hello all
After lurking about reading in posts in this forum doing research I bought my first Polo Gti yesterday. Mine is a Japanese import (which is where most of our cars come from) and I believe it is a European spec. It is a 5 door 2001 red model. It has a full Recaro interior, Bilstein B16 PSS9 Coilovers and Porsche D-90 wheels with stud converters.
The previous owner had gone to quite a bit of trouble installing a stereo too - Xtant X603 amp and diamond audio component speakers with a tyre-well mounted sub (not sure what kind yet). The head unit was stolen on the wharf during import so now it has a rather Garish Kenwood double Din one which is currently sitting on the floor in my lounge.
FYI I have previously owned a Nissan Pulsar N14 (Almera) Gti, Nissan sileighty, Mitsubishi Legnum Vr4 and BMW E46 318i. All manual!!
I'll link to some images below to the dealer page but not sure how long he'll have them up.
Ok, I can't link to the images but the web page is still up:

PS if anyone has a PDF of the owners manual or a DIY guide for centre console I would be thankful.

Hey mate,
Welcome to the site
good taste in cars I see.
Sounds like you have a nice Polo there.
What have you got planned for the car in terms of styling and tuning etc?
Those Almera & Sunny GTI's are rapid. Probably THE best 2.0 litre engine I have ever seen on a Japanese Car! 0-60 in 6.5 seconds as standard so I believe. Turbo it and you essentially have a Pulsar GTiR.
Good luck with your new motor
Ben

Hiya mate,
Welcome to the site. Those polished D90s look great!
Here's the sales brochure? Not sure if this will help for whatever you need it for:

Thanks for the comments guys
Spent most of the weekend taking the car apart and putting it back together - very quirky. Hard to believe comressed air is used for the central locking.
As for mods I was thinking of painting the wheel centres anthracite but the chrome, gaudy as it is has kinda grown on me. As for further mods I'm not to sure yet, I want to get a feel for the car first. I'm lucky though because most of the work has been done for me.
Thanks for the brochure Tim, I'm still keen to track down an owners' manual though.
Cheers
