Tail-lamps

Post by Si_GTi »

OK, seconds out, round 2... does anyone know if the LED-style rear light clusters available for the Golf Mk4 - found here - are available for the Polo GTi? I live in hope that they're gonna develop a cluster for the Polo but maybe another manufacturer stocks something similar..? Plus if FK Auto. do get round to an application for the GTi it's gonna be months and months isn't it? :(

Any ideas? What's everyone else running? I've got the standard red lamps until I find something better, but don't want lexus-style crystal lamps because there aren't any other external mods right now and they'd look a bit odd on a black standard GTi IMHO!

Nooooooooo, Lexus/LED lights are evil  (especially on German cars)

What's wrong with the standard ones? They look seriously smart IMO. I especially like the fact that they look all red and you cant really see the orange indicator bulb from most angles.

I agree the Lexus lights don't look good on any other car than a Lexus, I think thats because they are the ones originally with them on and any other are just trying to imitate a Lexus.

The stock red ones are nice, although on a black car that do stand out a little and I was thinking I may just get some smoked ones or even smoke them myself! I'm sure FK do a set for the GTI, Josh has a set one a while back and there was a posting somewhere with some photos of them on.

If you are really keen, I mean each man to their own, you may love them I would go for some black chome or smoked Lexus type ones because then the silver wouldn't stand out too much against the black.

I think I've found the answer... either the black-chrome units as seen in previous threads (from FK Auto.) or Hella's tinted black units, which I've just spotted on their website. I prefer the Hella ones, they'd fit with the euro-stylee mods I'm planning for when funds allow 8)

Don't get me wrong, theres 'nout wrong with the red standard clusters but they're just not for me! The old Mk4 1.4 16v had tinted clusters, do they fit onto Mk5 models??
