Bump strips

I want to remove the bump strips on my polo any1 know if its just ahedsive holding these on or is there gonna be holes or clips behind them ??

from what i've heard the extraction of the mk4 bump strips leaves smooth bodywork underneath, cos i know on a mk5 when u take them off it leaves holes :s

yep - smooth. I did it at the weekend. You want to heat it up really well with a hair dryer, then peel with fingers and credit card to try and get adhesive to stick to bump strip, not the car when removing it.

I managed to get the rear strips off no probs, but the front left huge adhesive strips. took an hour a side with white spirits and scraping credit card. no scratches tho!

just take your time and you will be ok. use a tesco card or sumthing, its free!! :lol:

there might be a wee bit of paint fade tho, cus youve got a red coloured car. but use t cut or something similar to restore the colour.
