head swaps

Post by gaz2000 »

ive got the 1.6 8v aee engine and wondered if there are any 16v heads off other models that fit?am planning on bigger valves and a high lift cam as things are but a 16valve head would be great.any ideas?

Think you'll find you'll have to have a 16v conversion, you cant just stick the 16v head on.

^^ What he said lol

Just do a 16v conversion and if you want in the future you can get a 6n2 GTI bottom end which'll give you a 1.6 16v!

Instead of spendign all the money on the mods for an AEE, you might as well get a 1.4 16v lump which will be the same horsepower(ish). Its better to mod the internals of a bigger engine as a base for reliability.

Also I don't no the bhp on an AEE but suppose its 75bhp. With the mods let say you have another 40bhp, which equals to 115bhp.

With a 16v engine you start at 100bhp and with the same increase in power it results to 140bhp!
