Welcome to the site mate 8)

The bumpers are the same on all 6N2s. the only difference is on the GTi they have Colour coded bumpstrips (some models don't), they have headlamp washer covers, and have a bigger splitter. and the skirts are part of the body, not an actual kit.

So all you'd need to complete the look is a GTi splitter, rear spoiler, and possibly colour code your bumpstrips

no point getting a gti spoiler mate as then you end up with two third brake lights, ive seen a nice subtle one knocking around on ebay, i think haris with the green polo has one, nice ans subtle.

tbh id get the car first then decide i was in same frame of mind as you when i first got mine but in the end left the spoiler as thought it looked good without and just got a gti splitter and gti honey combe grill and looked sweet.

make sure you get the model that has the decent skirts though as i got the match or s which jsut has flat side skirts, where as some models in the 1.4 75bhp and 1.4 16v have same ones as gti, but as tim says there part of the body and are welded on so not easy to cahnge and aftermarket ones are non existant so take it into account when your buying.

think the car looks fine without a spoiler, might go as far as saying i prefer it, check out haris's thread for pics of the nice spoiler and where you should take the car, lots of inspiration.

best places for parts like t the splitter etc is vw dealers or vagparts

if you gonna buy one then buy the 1.4 SE 16v. That would make it easier for you to make it a GTI replica as the bumpers are already colour coded and they have foglights fitted as standard. They also have exactly the same side skirts. Furthermore the engine covers are a straight swap so you can fit a GTI engine cover on like i have (so your not shy to pop the bonnet!)

Get a 1.4 SE and all you will need is a rear spoiler, honey combe grill, front splitter, and front and back GTI badges!

Ill put pics up of m9 soon as m9 is basically exactly the same as a GTI except for the seats and climatronic unit! Everything else (including the engine bay, dials, gear stick, xenons etc) are identical :D
