orange sensor in the air intake!

can n e one help, i have just fitted my induction kit (home made) to my car, obviously there is no hot air feed so the sensor is not needed! but wot do i do with the vacum pipe that attaches to it! atm, i still have the red one that came with the intake that i got off a golf, i connected it to there, but when its cold, it runs better without it on (still don't run great though).

n e advise on wot to do? do i put the orange one in, would it make a difference?

n help wot so eva would be useful!
