How low can i go?
How low can i go?
I want to lower the car by about 60mm and fit 15s but would that mean i would have to do some arch work?
If so how low can i go and wat size of wheels would be best suitable?

Re: How low can i go?
You should have no problem fitting 15" alloys/steels on 45 profile tyres at 60mm. You get minimal scrubbing at 70mm+.

Re: How low can i go?
It totally depends what size the wheels are in width and what offset they are. A standard sized wheel (no more than 7j in width, and offset no lower than 30) will have no issues, as long as your on a profile 45 tyre.

Re: How low can i go?
Atm im running 15x7j rial gs's with a 195/45 tyre on a roughly 80mm drop and i dont have no rubbing in the rear and the front only when i go on full lock...
Re: How low can i go?
When i was running my 7x15 ATS Cups et28, i was down the full 120 on the front with no problems.. and i was 100 in the rear, but had rubbing issues. They had 195/45 rubber on. Scrubbing can be resolved by rolling arches or running stretch tyres 165/50's Nankangs or Bridgestones.
Now im on the floor! 13's FTW!

Nah no arch work needed. 60mm looks nice, its not stupidly low either. My first kit was 60mm.1st_polo wrote:Orite

Re: How low can i go?
The Phil J Kits off Club Polo are good. And fairly cheap. The coilovers i have off their, Ta Technix are only £215 deliverd.
Lime Green sounds awesome. There was alot of bright coloured wheels at Edition 38 this year.

Yeah would yuh say pi are a good set up or would yuh say avoid them
And im not on club polo eh.
And yeah its just my standard wheels but in green eh.
Yuh think i would be possible to fit a megane front splitter to my car my mates getting rid of one for 25 quid.
and if so how easy will it be to fit?

Re: How low can i go?
If your going to payout £225 for spring/shocks you may as well buy Ta Technix Coilovers. £10 less.
Whats the megan splitter look like? Anything like the leguna splitter..?
Fitting - suspension wise is easy, very simple. You'll require a spring compressor when taking the originals apart..

Re: How low can i go?
Nah not really its kinda chunker and there is no holes in it eh, but its like thicker than the standard polo one.
If i dont like to look of it i wont bother and i will have to join club polo first before i buy lol.
But yeah i will see.
Ive got a huge list of what i want to do will need to wait and see how the money goes.
yuh got any more ideas for your car .

Re: How low can i go?
The mark 5 Gti splitters always look well. Thats what i have on.
I've got a few idea's in mind. I'm the same, money.
In the process of changing the tyres on my new ATS Classics. i'm putting 165/55/13 rubber on. Some nice stretch.
I plan on having the numberplate recess smoothed over. Keeping the 8v look.
Fit my central locking kit.
Thats prob about it. I'll no doubt think of other things.
You?
