Which Suspension

Post by sc00byd00byd00 »

Hiya All,

I want some new suspension for my car, its a Polo Mk4....

Want to stay away from Coilovers cos I think they offer a ride quality far too harsh for what i'm looking at....

Dont want to go too low so.......

My options are; (from the venom site)

VW Polo, Derby 1.0 - 1.4i 6N (until Mod.99) (8.94-9.99)
Weitec Ultra GT Suspension Kit 40mm 40mm £276.00
(inc. VAT)

VW Polo, Derby 1.0 - 1.4i 6N (until Mod.99) (8.94-9.99)
Weitec Ultra GT Suspension Kit 60mm 60mm £292.00
(inc. VAT)

VW Polo, Derby 1.0 - 1.4i 6N (until Mod.99) (8.94-9.99)
Weitec Ultra GT Suspension Kit 60mm 40mm £284.00
(inc. VAT)

VW Polo, Derby 1.6 + Diesel 6N (until Mod.99) (8.94-9.99)
Weitec Ultra GT Suspension Kit 40mm 40mm £284.00
(inc. VAT)

VW Polo, Derby GTI 1.4i 16V/1.6i 16V 6N (until Mod.99) (8.94-9.99)
Weitec Ultra GT Suspension Kit 30mm 30mm £292.00
(inc. VAT)

So my Question is;

Do I go for the 30, 40 or 60mm drop ? (or a 60 /40mm split ?) to maintain Maximum handling ?

Whats the deal with the 60/40 split ?

I plan to get some Anti Roll Bar Kits, preferably Eibach or Weitec.... are they available for the Mk4 ?

Would like to fit some 15" or 16" Schmidt Modern Line's at some point too..... am I going to "have to" fit coilovers for these wheels to fit properly ?

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Go for the 60mm kit, a 30-40mm drop is just not noticable! Go for at least 50mm.

60-40 gives 60mm on the front & 40mm on back giving the slight 'wedge' effect, also some kits allow you to also adjust the rear too, (off the car) so you can set it at either 60 or 40 on the back.

Not sure on the ARB's, let someone else take that one!

You shouldn't run into any probs with 15 or 16" rims, again someone else may have more experience with what you're after on this one!

Got some money for xmas and now want to buy a set of coileys.........

Dont want any cr4p so i've narrowed it down to either Weitec's or FK Konigsports.........

Any pro's / cons for each ?? Anybody with experience ?

I basically want the best build quality, and ones that aren't gonna rust.

Also, wheres the cheapest place to get the 2 above makes ? Venom ???

Cheers,

Scott
