Hey - It's very very cold where I live and i'm just wondering is this the cause of a noise that's just started recently.
Whenever I take my handbreak off and move the car for the first time in 10 hours it has recently started to make a noise. It's just a very brief noise as the wheels loosen for the first time. (Noise comes from the back).
Is this normal due to the whether the wheels maybe becoming a little stiff.
There is no noise what so ever upon moving.
Thanks.
Noise upon moving for the first time in hours.

Its your hard brake, give your brakes a good blast with a jet wash and that might sort it out. Used to get it all the time on my clio.

Ah but my breaks are drum breaks do I just blast them with the power washer?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Could just be a build up of brake dust, when were the shoes changed last?
Re: Noise upon moving for the first time in hours.
I have no idea what shoes are
I got it serviced a month or so ago though!

dont worry bout it just get ya rear brakes serviced!
Re: Noise upon moving for the first time in hours.
If it's a single twang / clunk as you pull off, that's just the shoe releasing from the drum. The dampness in the air causes them to 'rust' together over night. The rear calipers/discs do it also and have done on most VWs for as long as I can remember.
