noob, engine question

Post by gingee25 »

just bought a 1.0l olop and slow is a word u could use, not really worried about having massive power, jst want something tht happily cruises on a motorway, was wondering if a 1.6 cl lump will go in without changing loom?

I imagine it would, as I don't think the AER has anything different than the 1.4 and the 1.6 lump, just need to change the ECU as well for it to function. but I'm sure more people on here know their engines better :)

if i have to change loom il jst chuck a 16v lump in there. do 8v bumpers look ok on 5 doors, next couple of months it will be lowered a fair bit on cookie cutter wheels, dunno if to put some smoothed 16v bumpers or leave 8v?

I'd go for the 1.6 lump over the 16v due to gearbox issues on the 16v, I imagine the 1.0 and the 1.6 will be a much easier swap, due to alot of items are interchangeable from the two and I imagine the 1.6 would be more fun to mod. As for the bumper it will look fine, the bumpers are identical on 3door and 5door models, only difference is the 3dr models have longer doors whilst 5dr has shorter doors and the back wing is different (to accommodate the different door sizes), everything else is identical bodywork between the variations.

Kinda, its the same shape and size different ratios as the 1.6 produces 75BHP

Thinks the p-slots will work very well for the dub-skeen! the cookie cutters are more of a street race look depends what you wanna go with.

Heres a golf with the p's
