Electric Windows problem

I checked my polo the other morning to find both windows fully open, no central locking, 2 blown fuses( 25 amp) and the battery flat. I have fixed the central locking problem and stopped th fuses blowing, but i have had to cut the red wire going to the drivers side window to stop the fuse blowing.
Is there any way to manually close the windows, because both seem to be jammed ???
