Re: Component Speakers
ok then, thanks for that, will i need some adaptors for them to fit?
Re: Component Speakers
one question, why are you changing the front speakers?
Re: Component Speakers

Re: Component Speakers
imo the stock speakers are rubbish. i replaced mine and the sound quality is so much better. in the 9n u will, think some companies sell them but i had mine made from mdf and the fit perfectly.
Re: Component Speakers
ye i have to agree, seems like an obvious choice to upgrade them to be honest. are you running yours off your headunit or amping them?

Re: Component Speakers
atm they are run off the headunit as with my 6*9s, not the most perfect situation but the sound quality is still damn good. would probably look to run the 6*9s at a later date off a separate amp but keep the components off the head unit.
hifonics ftw lol

Re: Component Speakers
ah nice one, yer they must sound good. ordered some hertz components and 2 JBL subs n an amp, so i'll run the components off the headunit and have the amp solely for the subs im thinking. just need to fit it all now, not sure whether to try it on my own or just go somewhere to get it done.

Re: Component Speakers
depends how comfortable u feel with car electrics. i suck at electrics so took it to a guy in dundee to get it all fitted and he did it all really neatly and all the wiring is perfectly hidden, cost me about 200quid in labour but was worth it.
Re: Component Speakers
Yer I think I'd probably struggle doing it. Might have a look though , as it's going to cost alot if I get somewhere to do it. So was that £200 labour to do the 6x9's and components?

Re: Component Speakers
I find the speakers in the front run loud enough with good quality. and the sub in the back improves it alot in my car.
I dont think i'de upgrade them i think i wouldn't notice the difference apart from the money out my pocket and i'de have to put effort into doing something.
shame vag parts is closed
you could buy an official vag speaker upgrade i heard was really good.

O right that's fair enough, sounds like a sick system though, bet it sounds great. Think I'll probably have to pay 150 for my installation. Definitly be worth it though.
Re: Component Speakers
Yer I did have a look at the upgrades on the vw website, hertz should be awesome tho, mates got them and they sound so good.ranson90 wrote:I find the speakers in the front run loud enough with good quality. and the sub in the back improves it alot in my car.
