Replacing the polo..

Post by nikz »

Hey guys, now that I'm working I was looking into buying an e36 bmw coupe. I've googled forums etc but was just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them? Particularly the 1.6 (for insurance purposes) and the 1.8/9 versions. Not too bothered about the power thing as I don't want to do a huge jump from the 1.4 polo I have right nw. Just thought I'd ask in here seeing as everyone's been so friendly when it came to the polo.
Cheers
Nik.

For the 316i, 0-60 is quoted at 12.3 seconds, so yes there certainly wouldn't be a big jump compared to your Polo.

Not sure I could live with having the Coupe looks, but not having the power to back them up.

Yeah I know what you mean, Polo's however are becoming increasingly common in my area and I've had this for over two years now. To be honest I'm not the type that necessarily has to have the "show" with the "go" because most my routes have me sticking to around about the 30 mark anyway but I do get where you're coming from. Was just thinking something RWD but not too powerful would be a step in the right direction.
