light steering?

Post by Joe_Mk5 »

the steering feels really light whilst driving, i havnt been above 40 recently but it feels incredibly light straight through the speeds. its been really cold latly so possibly down to icy roads?
its not happened before but just wanted to double check with everyone that it wasnt somthing more serious
thanks in advance

it could be ur camber out..... or it could just be, as u said, the wet roads. my car felt light earlier and i got 7"wide alloys on it. i think it was just the wet tho.

hopefully it'll be dry tomorrow so i'll be able to compare then. could it be anything to do with the power steering?

dont think so......if u got standard wheels on the steering is quite light but once u got wider alloys on it affects it more.

unless u got really pumped up tyres if u done them recently? im sure its nothing to worry about..... see wat happens tomorrow and if ur worried go to a garage u trust and get them to check it... not kwikfit...

Your power steering fluid warms up and cools down, the steering can feel different due to this. My steering was pretty heavy in the summer I thought
