polo colour concept engine electric check light and faults

Right here it is im getting completely P1553d off with this car, first of all a few months back the engine electric check light would come on and off and still does when the light comes on it still drives fine like normal but when it flashes the car will lose power sound louder and shake more nobody can tell me what this is or at least do anything about it its so intermittant i took it to vw and becuase it didnt hapen while they had it they said that its fine no problems. Now all of a sudden im also having other problems as the other day the boot light came on but the boot was shut then i could close the boot a couple times it would go off then later come back again, then the same day the alarm would be going off a few times for no reason, yester day i drove the car fine no problems turned it off and the alarm went off and passenger window went down:S drove it back fine again and the window went down when i turned it off again except no alarm this time, took the car out today fine turned it off window didnt go down or anything but then went to start a few hours later and it wouldnt tun over, left it for 10mins went out started and ran fine???? sorry this is quite long winded but frustrating me not sure if the 2nd problem could be to do with the battery? but its very random also not sure if its connected to the first problem or not but any help on either topic would be great

First problem you need to get a garage to vag-com the car as it sounds pretty serious

Second problem sounds like your rear washer pipe has split - check if its working. The reason the boot light comes on is because the microswitch short circuits.

i took it to vw and they put the vag on it and they said nothing only that the problem maybe a sticking valve and 500 pounds to fix which i dont think it is, also the boot light problem must be onnected with the fuel gauge not woring sometimes alrm going off etc so would this all be becuase of the rear wiper?

Fuel gauge is most likely a bad earth - follow the wiring to the loom. It could be as the washer pipe runs along side the loom and can short it out!

ok i just find it a bit strange the boot light coming on, alarm going off randomly and fual guage etc all the electrics are plyin up, also any suggestions on the first problem with the engine check light?

The washer pipes have a tendency for bursting, normally in the tailgate, which means water gets onto the electrics, and will trip the sensors into thinking the boot is open, and also cause the alarm to go off.

If it's shorted it could have damaged other wires in the process.

You'd be suprised what can link to another.
