Hi guys, just after some cheap lowering springs, 40 or 50 mm something along those lines

looking to spend less than 50 quid as just a temporary thing,

cant be done safely that way though and the springs come out of the holders

it can be done safely, just wear safety goggles :D lol

on a serious note, chopping springs is a big no no, but can be done safely, i have chopped springs and is no different to coilovers

not easy to do 40mm drop tho lol, i ran cut springs on the rear of a rover i owned and large bumps the spring can come out.

you obivously didnt cut the springs evenly as the only time they will come out if there not seated properly, 40mm would be about 2 coils on the front and probably 2.5 on the back

After all that palava, you may aswell have gone down the safer route and spent £60 on lowering springs!

You still looking for 40mm drop? I've got a set of APEX springs that i have used for about 3 months. Got a lifetime warranty and are in great condition. PM me with an offer if your interested.
