Polo 1.9 TDI PD 100 Clutch and Fly Wheel

Post by jap_master »

i was wondering do they do and upgraded clutch and fly wheel for the car?

i have just been looking at the jabba sport website: http://www.jabbasport.com/ and they do upgraded clutched for the 6 speed gear box (PD130 or GTi).

i guess what i am saying is, will that fit on the 5 speed box?

because it states on there that the orginal clutch and only handle 310 lbft, what concrens me is that if my car is remap to 300lbft the wear is going to much sooner (i dont have an light foot  )

can some one help me please thanks

Not sure it would be a direct swap mate...the PD100 uses an 02J gearbox as opposed to the 02M 6 speed in the PD130. HOWEVER, uprated (and stock, but that's irrelevant) VR6 clutches and flywheels are a direct swap, so you've got quite a bit of choice :)

Hope this helps.

so what you are telling me is that an VR6 clutch and flywheel will directly fit on to my car? arn't diesel and petrol have different clutches or gear box fitments?

but i have an dual mass flywheel? can you use and normal flywheel instead of the dual mass?

if so the VR6 clutch does fit my car where can i buy one? any websites you highly recommend?

thanks for all your help

Although, the VR6 clutches are different from the PD100, they are a staight swap...as is the flywheel. Am not 100% sure wheher you have a dual mass flywheel or not, but if you're going for big power upgrades, I'd swap to a single-mass one. Might be worth ringing up Jabba, they'll probably be able to help. JBS are really good too, although they're rebuildng their site at the moment http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/

What are you trying to achieve with this car BHP wise? As a stage 1 remap on the PD100 won't even touch 250 ft/lbs of torque...

i am not trying to achive big bhp, what i am trying to achive is reliablity. i have had my car remaped before (Revo) and it was aggresive map and it killed of my dual mass flywheel.

so i took the map off and got the flywheel replace under warrenty. now i am looking to remap the car again but with and more stronger flywheel and clutch.

thanks for your help
ian

P.S. i drive really hard all the time
