Shocking Re-map

Post by jap_master »

an few years back the previous owner of my car have had an revo re-map done to my car, but today i wanted to take it off (I want it standard). So i went to the nearest revo dealer to me to sort it out, guess what happen when the guy pluged it in and the laptrop says its NOT!! revo software. so i was think what the HELL!!!

so i got hold of the previous owner to tell him about it, he say its really an revo software and he e-mailed me the invoice to prove it. (luckly he still had it)

the reason the revo tech guys says its not revo software is because the revo software on the laptop can not communicate with the ecu software (RE-MAP SOFTWARE)

so what they say is that the can upload and revo software to wipe out what ever software is in my ecu, which is going to cost about £400 which i dont want to pay. or keep as it is or try to find out what software it is.

so can some one give me options on what to do? im lost.

thanks for your help

The only time I could imagine a software tuner couldn't re-flash the ECU with standard code would be if the ECU had a physical chip installed.

Give Custom-Code a ring to see how much they'd charge to diagnose / reflash the ECU back to stock.

If you've got an invoice from these guys surely they are held to offer you some customer service being there product is on your car .... regardless wot this guys laptop says. They put it on so they should be able to take it off!

Maybe Give J (more-bhp) a call... he may be able to assist at a better price?? and I think he offers a service where you can post him you ECU.

Anyway, why would you want the a map turned off?? :?: :?:

if it was flashed with apr revo couldnt touch it and visa versa the only way to flash it is to remove the chip and do it direct to the chip jason at more bhp can sort it out for you!!! :D

Thanks Guys for Pluggin me :-)

Sure I can make it standard for Zero pounds...its so easy.....

Jap_master - what dont you like ? You want purley standard or something different ????

Thing to remember is your average REVO dealer is an employee of another company and that employee doesnt really give a sh*t .. he earns nothing for doing a job.. so why should he make any effort.. thats how many think...just because the laptop says NO...

So why doesnt he have the skills to remove the ecu and flash it on the bench... or desolder the chip.. and do it that way.... maybe because he sees the anti-tamper case as a ball ache.. or maybe cant even solder....

Many times I get people turn up by recommendation because we do make an effort... we run REAL diagnostics... we check cars out.. and dont charge a penny...

Just today... we had a guy come in with a Seat Ibiza 1.8T that had had and engine swap to an old AGU block.... its a mess.. we spent an hour or two trying to get it go properly... but no joy... there had been an obvious short with major wire meltage....we charge nothing... but we book the car for next week to fit a new wiring loom ... and go from there...

What will happen in this business is that those who give good service with good products and good prices - they will survive and prosper.... ;-)

Thats enough from me... J
