Whats a helper spring? Is it a tiny spring that goes above the main spring? My old KW's had that on my Lupo but the Eibach coilovers I have on my Polo GTI only have one spring on the front.

nope not at the bottom, oh and the helper spring is not an mot failure if it is removed, springs are failed of they need assistance when the vehicle is lowered or the back spring fall out when jacked up! The helper is there to assist the spring when it is jacked up so it doesnt jangle about if you get me! When the car is on the ground the helper does nothing as it is fully compressed !
