Gear change problems with new clutch

Hello all...

I've got a 1.4 Polo match, on a 51 plate, with 70,000 miles.

I had a new clutch fitted about a month ago, and I now have a problem getting it into first. It won't go in unless the clutch is pumped a couple of times - it doesn't happen every time, but more often than not.

Yesterday evening and today I noticed that when I started off in first it stalled quite easy.

It's been really cold here, and both times that the stalling happened it's been when the car was iced up, if that might be relevant?

Welcome to the site mate. First of all, your car sounds like a 6N2 (Mark5) not 3.

Du know what clutch kit you were supplied with? Sounds like it's either a cheap naff kit, or the cable needs adjusting.
