its will cut back out unless i keep some revs on i was told from the previous owner its the fuel filter, but it doesnt seem to

bad at startin when its warm, now after reading this it has sort of lead me to beileve it could be this http://www.uk-polos.net/view ... 10&t=35137

so just want a bit of advice before i go messing Thanks.

Secondly the handbrake light is constantly on i have checked the brake fluid level and that is fine do the rear shoes need

Firstly welcome!

Good to see you have done so reasearch. That may be the problem especilly if it wont start in the cold but will onced warmed up. Someone may want to double check before i say its exactly that. Some faults give off different symptoms.

As for the heandbrake light, on the brake fluid res, check the sensor on the top is secure and not raised... thats normaly the suspect for the handbrake light always being on. I ended up stuicking a guys at work down because it was going for MOT lol. Not really a bodge i would do but it got him passed. what can i say i dint have time.

Well has you stated it dont start when its cold i correct my self if i did write that but yeah .. it does start when its cold but

cuts out if you dont rev it once warm its fine, but if u was to pop into the shop come back and start it it grumbles sumtimes

im guessin i should change the tempreature sensor and the fuel filter .

1.Where is the fuel filter located ?

Thanks again in advance

Oliver

Welcome to the forum!

You'll find the fuel filter under the back of the car, in front of the rear axle line. Here's a pic:

I picked up some gti wheels in great con with two toyo tr1 tyres with only 3000 miles on them and 2 michelin tyres that had a good bit of tread on them and paid £300. If im right the michelin tyres are about £86 per tyre and about the same price for the toyo's.
