6n polo dash problems...

Hello there I have a 6n and my speedo has died. As well as this my petrol gauge has started goin up and down when I go round corners as if the float is loose in the tank or something?? Wanted to know if anyone had expericanced anything like this before and might be able to diagnose the problem before I remove the dash..... Both problems happened at the same time (didnt know if they could be linked?) Also I was wondering if any one knows if the 3 heating controls are supposed to light up when you have the lights on?? Silly question I know, but I bought the car and im sure they are meant to light up because you cant see them at night lol

Have you checked all the relevant fuses mate? Sounds like one has konked all three out.
