A Good Days Work

Post by crodgers »

Hadnt any plans for Saturday so i thought id have a go at cleaning up the engine bay of the 6n. I liked the idea of the polished Rocker Cover and thought id give it a go. I forgot to take a before picture but here was the result of a few hours work. And from what it was at the beginning im well chuffed with the result. Let me know what yous think!

What sort of things did you use for cleaning it up?

Started off with about 400 Wet and Dry then just worked away making sure that i went in the same direction. Then worked my way to 700 then 1000 then 1500. Then used Metal polish to buff it up at the end. Just repeated this process for a few hours. To be honest i just used what i had in the garage. Didnt really follow any guidelines. It was sort of trial and error and it turned out great. I went to see if i could get pads for my drill to get a better finish but couldnt get them so it was just all manual work. Its a really easy DIY thing. It just takes having the patience and time to just put the effort in. But trust me when you see what it was before then realise how good it can come up then its definately worth it!
