FK Angel eyes
has anyone converted the filament angel eye bulbs to leds and if so where can i get some ???
Re: FK Angel eyes
LED's go straight away, and the ring around the projector is horrible for replacing bulbs, takes ages and your hands do get cut and the air will turn blue from swearing
I gave up after 2 sets of LED's went and went back to normal bulbs. Its actually easier to take the headlight out to replace them cos the battery gets in the way.
Re: FK Angel eyes
cheers veedub. what do you mean 'go straight away'?? blow??

Are you saying that the LEDs are easier to fit but end up being crap because they fail quickly?Veedub9n wrote:LED's go straight away, and the ring around the projector is horrible for replacing bulbs, takes ages and your hands do get cut and the air will turn blue from swearingI gave up after 2 sets of LED's went and went back to normal bulbs. I'm just asking as it looked like the OP asked about dumping filament bulbs and using LEDs instead - but it looks like you are saying its not worth it from a reliability pint of view.
Ah, I've re-read your posting and what I read to be "LEDs go (in) straight away" is actually "LEDs go straight again" - is this not to do with their supply voltage ranges - these things need a series resistor or they will go "pop" with 12 volts - I'd reckon that most of them come with a predetermined voltage range so that means that they have internal series voltage dropping resistors - mainly I think that it is the series resistor that fails due to poor selection.
Re: FK Angel eyes
got sum leds to try thanks to info from Luke_poloe's progress thread mkv forum
