Power Steering Problem

Only had my GTI bout 3 months! For the 1st month and everything was fine, i bought a 6000k HiD kit, then bout 2 weeks later my powersteering light come up on the dash making the steering solid and cannot turn, also befor the light comes on all electrics cut out then come back on, also by moving the steering left to right makes all lights turn off and on and somtimes makes the car stall. VW fixed it first time said the power steering pump had failed, got the car home refitted my HID kit and about 1 week later happend again, so back to VWs and they said i had a corroded earth terminal so they fixed that. So refitted the HiD kit once again and been about 1 month now and tonight driving home its gone again... Do you think its the HID kit causeing this? has anyone else had this problem?

Is the ballast unit near the power steering pump by any chance? Have read that they can cause problems if too close
