NEED HELP URGENTLY!!!

Post by NFS »

Just went to get a quote to fit my manifold and the guy said that the manifold doesn't have a CAT in it so it will fail its MOT. Ne1 who has fitted a raceland manifold, can you please let me know if there were any complications in getting a MOT with a raceland manifold fitted? Need to know as i will be getting the manifold fitted at 3 o'clock!!!

Many Thanks

Are you keeping the main cat?

MKV's have 2 cats... A pre-cat in the manifold and the main cat.

I'm not sure what would happen if you just removed the pre-cat... I'm not even sure if the pre-cat has its own lambda probe? If it does, this will still need to go in the manifold.

yeh i am still keeping the main cat just removing the pre-cat. There is a lambda probe for the manifold which i am going to put back in, so in fitting wise everything is perfect. The only problem is if by removing the pre-cat will i fail my MOT?
