How are you driving it? I know when I take my time dont rev over 3000 and change at 2500 I can get over 50mpg. I drove back for the lakes in a fully loaded car and got 55mpg just by doing that. But when I rag it about I am lucky to get 20mpg

Mines a 1.4 10bhp and the book says 40mpg

I got 45mpg+ in my remapped GTI on a 100 mile drive across the hilly scottish highlands :P It's amazing what sticking to speed limits returns...although it rarely happens.

sounds like there's something not right with your car, unless your thrashing it everywhere.

try going for a motorway/A road drive and see what it averages on that

wow that's low, even gunning the hell out of mine my average rarely drops below 30, and my map is damn aggresive!

unless you are speaking about driving around town figures, then i'd easily see below 20

Same as me Brad. Average driving too i'd say. Thought I should get bit more too but now I know it's not just mine!

sometimes no light if its still in operating range but can still be out if ya get me! And best way to check for a vac leak is to idle engine open bonnet and listen for hissing/sucking noises, or spray carb cleaner round all the vac pipes when runnin and if there a leak the engine will missfire/stall as it sucks it in the leaking pipe! :P hope this helps ya
