I'm going to do all of the "basic" mods over the next few months:
- Clear front indicators (already ordered some clear ones. I don't know if I should have got the frosted ones for uniformity, but I will install them and then see what it looks like. Thoughts?)
- Clear side light indicators (I got the frosted colourless ones, didn't go for the fully clear ones.)
- LED Strobe Grille Lights (Police style blue ones. Installed them in to the grille, and am awaiting a 12V DC charger thing so I can plug them directly in to the cigarette lighter. May hook it up directly to a 12V line, we'll see.)
- Mk5 rear lights (look much better, and easy to install.)
- Get a new aerial (my current one is shagged and the rubber at the base is all crumbly. Also the reception in my car radio is awful, so may need to sort out some of the electrical connections.)
- Get a new set of wipers front and rear (and get a new rear base unit, as the little ball bearing on the current one which directs screen wash on to the rear windscreen came off during the recent icyness.)
- New hub caps or alloys, depending on budget. Also need to fully wax it and clean it. New interior mats. New number plates. Sort out dash lights (the backlights for the heater direction/temperature/strength etc. only work sometimes, I need to bash it for them to come on etc. I reckon it is just a loose connection...?) New pedals. GTi gearstick and steering wheel maybe.
That is all I can think of to do so far. Not going to lower it yet, though it will make it look so much better. But it's all to do with £££!!
Just a quick question also: on my passenger side door, the lock has broken, like the thing you pull up or press down to open the door or close it. Can you replace these? If so, how?
Also a quick heads up guys, Lidl will be having a car sale thing in a few weeks: http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages ... .index.ar3
