Been doing a bit of research into picking up a set of 17" alloys to replace my existing steels. However, insuring the thing has turned into a bit of a problem. I've been told that unless the new alloys 'fall within the manufacturer specification' the vehicle will not be covered. I'm tempted to go ahead and buy anyway, but then again I pay a hell of a lot for my insurance, and to drive around knowing I'm paying all of that out for my car to not 'really' be covered would get to me after a while.
Advice?

Re: Alloys and insurance
Just buy some nice looking OEM wheels. What car do you drive?
Re: Alloys and insurance
Polo 9n (2003 3dr)
By all means please give me some alternatives to take a look at. I'm intrigued...how many 'OEM' alloys are there?
Thanks

Hundreds. Think Golf and Bora and possibly Audi range. Get em on the cheap then get some low profile tyres on.
Re: Alloys and insurance
Hang on a sec, so what what exactly does 'manufacturer spec' mean? I thought it would be only alloys that would be sold by VW specifically for the Polo.
