DZ's Polo 1.4 TDI

Post by dzign »

Hi guys,

New to the world of Polo's, picked her up on Friday evening and gave her a quick wash on Saturday before doing a 250mile trip. Never missed a beat and was a fantastic drive :) Very impressed with the 75bhp and however much torque it has, considering i've just come from a MK4 1.8t and a Octy VRS, it certainly didn't disappoint me.

Thought i'd post up a few pics, nothing fancy more of a reference to how it looks now. If weathers good next weekend she'll get a full clean/clay/wax job.

A few mods in the pipeline, first a set of new plates these ones are abit manky, also new plate surrounds. Debadging the rear, but may rebadge with something else, just not sure what yet. Also needs some nice mats, smaller aerial, alloys + decent rubber, lowering, de-wipering the rear. Nothing wild just want to keep it looking clean.

Cheers bud! I done a quick search on the remote central locking, seem's like there isn't an OEM option? Alot of people recommend an aftermarket alarm system. Abit gutted I was hoping to goto VW, getting a flip key coded and somehow getting it to work with the car, then again I bet an aftermarket one would be alot cheaper.

Cheers mate!

To be honest i'm not sure, though I read on the mkiv forum's VW would badge the Golf's in so many different ways, yet they all had the same engines, build the same year etc etc. Unless this was debadged then rebadged somewhere down its life

Absolutely stunning colour  I have always loved white and black, but some of the more unusual colours work so well on Polo's...

I guess its been rebadged or badged differently out the show room lol. It's definately a 1.4 TDI as i've got the original invoice when it was first bought back in March 2002 and on the V5

"VW Polo (A04) S 1.4 TDI PD 75bhp 3 door"

Yeah I love the colour, definately persauded me to buy this particular one.

Strange i've only just noticed this, but my polo doesnt have the trip computer function? I've checked the stalk controls where it normally is on the Golf and Skoda, but definately not on my polo? I assume some models came without this option?
