New Member Polo GTI Wheel size help

Hello,

I'am Frederik from Belgium and have a polo 9n3 GTI.
I have my gti now for about 5 months and i love it!
Great litte car with power
My previous car was the polo 6n2 GTI but the new one is mutch beter. The turbo is aewsome

The GTI is full option and has 9000 km.

The first thing i did was the remap, the car has 191 hp and 285 nm torque
Now i will get the 312mm brake upgrade + the rear ones (256) + wheels

I'am hesitating between 17 of 18 inch wheels.
Here on the forum i have read that 18 inch is to big for the polo (whitegtipolo and kenny gti).
But is it because the weight of the monza's or is it just to big?

If i take the 18 * 8 inch it will be BBS CK (weight 23.5lbs or 10.7 kg), that is not so havy i tink. Standaard monza's in 16 + tyres are 17.2 kg

If you take 18 inch is the comfort completely gone with the 215/35/18 tyres?

i had 18" monzas



they do fit 8x18 35mm offset but front arches need a pull out , had 215/35/18, ride was awfull and power loss too, but i never tried them with decent tyres so that could have mad a difference! got 17" now and fit the body of the car much better and handle great!

Personally I think 18's look too big on the small short wheelbase chassis.... 17's for the win imo.

spend enough and get the light weight 18s ... you know thats really what you want....

Replica 18s are so heavy.. not like the real things.... thats the problem...

And drop the height good... so as we say over here... you can just get a fag paper between the arch and the tyre... true euro style...
