Alloy Wheels - not standard!

Post by Lytescary »

I bought a Polo GTi that should hopefully be going on the road next week or so, but I have a slight problem. All of the insurance quotes that I am prepared to pay dont allow modifications. The previous owner has added some additional alloys which is classified as a modification. Other companies have extortionate prices. Anyone know of anyway around this. I know I could purchase some of the standard BBS Split Rims but everywhere I look they are more than I would like to pay. Any other ideas? Thanks

What wheels are they?

Pick up a set of RXIIs that are in need of a refurbishment.

Or ride BBS RAs, or G60 steels? they're OEM.

what's your price range for wheels?

There like 170 quid on ebay in need of refurb and some cheaper than that!

We need to know a price range really becouse 170 quid is very cheap for alloys that suit the car perfectly! Plus u can sell urs on here or ebay to recover costs!

I'm not entirely sure what wheels they are. The car is currently at home in Somerset and im down in cornwall.
I bought the car on ebay last week so feel free to have a look

I'm starting to wish that I hadn't paid so much for the car lol. What do you think? Did I pay to much for what it is or not considering the damage?
And about how much I want to pay - as less as possible is best haha.

They look like pretty generic, and will be worth much less than the standard BBS ones. Speak to your company, they may acknowledge it.

And If that's all that's wrong with it, then that's a very good price I'd say!

With wheels you get what you pay for at the end of day, if you want to spend £150 expect to have to refurbish them and get a new set/pair of tyres. £250 should fetch you a nice set with decent tyres.
