Kenny - you mean the little one that holds the disc on...

Use an allen bit held in a driver "so you make it like a screwdriver" .. then whack (and hard) the end of driver... to shock it loose.....

These little buggers can get a little stuck sometimes..... and if you've rounded it a little too much then use a suitable screwdriver bit and TW*T that in instead.....

But if you struggled with that bit... then I'd take it to a garage... we would have them on in less than 10 minutes start to finish... so you shouldnt have to pay someone too much...

The other day we changed all my 4 Discs and Pads and fitted H&R springs and new wheels (even though we no spring clamps to hand) in just over an hour ... with a brew and chat...

(or I should have said... that the Mechanic that works with me did it all in just over an hour.... I took the locking wheel nuts out... lol)

If it is the wee bolt that holds the discs onto the hub could you not simply drill it out? I have had this happen to me on previous occasions and these bolts always seem all too eager to round off when you apply any pressure to them. When refitting, I never bother using them as the brake disc is held in place securely when you bolt your wheels on.

often if it is stuck use a centre punch to knock it round always worked for me! failing that get a lump hammer and smack your disc on the rear hard enough and it will snap the nut off , also done this b4!

Spoke to a guy on another forum and he's gonna fit them for me, he works for VW and he was telling me it happens all the time. Might get them fitted this week or next depending if i can get off work. Cant wait :D

Take it you dont bother fitting another screw when you snap it?

Its a very poor design tho!!!!

Happens all the time mate. Mine had this problem.

Just get a drill bit of a similar size and drill it out, keep spraying it with WD40 as you do. Once the head falls off, bang the disc off and use some pliers to unscrew the the bolt thread. Takes 5 minutes.

Then if you want to, get some new screws to put back in, they're not essential however. They're just used to line up the disc and hub holes.
