K04 Turbo???
Well now i have got all my required mods, i suppose bigger turbo is nexted, not sure about goin all out for a IHI or something like that as i am not wanting to replace gearboxes, clutches etc so thought K04??? Its a nice direct replacment i presume to the K03s??? Then get a custom remap to suit??

Re: K04 Turbo???
KO4 Isnt a direct replcaement. Theres quite a bit involved. It and when I go BT I will either be going the IHI route or a gt28 kit.
Re: K04 Turbo???
only the ko4-001 bolts on to the existing system, but still requires fabrication

Re: K04 Turbo???
i know the ko4-001 isnt worth the hassle at all best saving for a hybrid of your own turbo jbs do some good ones bolt straight on only thing you need is custom map and a 3" maf , injectors , 3" exhaust, fpr 4bar , modded tip! winner thats what ill be doing in the future! Gunna buy bits at a time then it doesnt feel so much of a financial wreckage lol

Surely when you start going into IHI or Gt28 turbo your gear box and clutch are gonna start going wrong???? and am not too kean going down that route as i use my car everyday!

Re: K04 Turbo???
No sorry didnt mean that mate. What i meant was can the OEM gearbox and clutch (clutch isnt much of a problem tho) take all the extra torque the car is going to produce? Plus stock internals????

Re: K04 Turbo???
£3000 i think fitted that was with the exhaust though! Its a hybrid of your turbo with bigger internals his has bout 300bhp which is all you need and his box has been fine and clutch but obviously more usable with a diff and better clutch ! the engine can take 350bhp b4 internal mods! here it is

Re: K04 Turbo???
You can get K04-001 that bolts straight on.... I have one... still makes more than a bar of boost at 7,000 rpm :-0
Then you need 3" MAF, 386CC injectors, 4 bar FPR, K04 mapping,
Kenny, you have the exhaust and the fmic ready...
With this setup the clutch can cope... but traction becomes a problem if you run too much boost... you can do 1.5 bar on this setup...
But the way forward is a GT28 .... they go great... different league to all this k03/04 stuff .....and you can get direct fit.
Thats what I work on next.. batch of GT28s
But Kenny you are right... you need another clutch for this and limited slip diff...

Re: K04 Turbo???
GT28 would be great but with cash going towards new pad these days money cant go towards car
so K04 would be my next mod maybe. Do u see much more of a difference??? What do you reckon your car is giving out? If your going bigger turbo again then i'll happly buy your K04

Re: K04 Turbo???
Would be great fun having that, but my car is a daily driver to my work and back and general driving about, so wanna keep it sensible, not after 300+ bhp etc. K04-001 looks a suitable upgrade for me withe MAF, injectors etc. What pressure can you put the K04 to? Around 23-25psi???
