my brand new headlights

Post by monk »

i just finished installing xenon on my headlights. the only difference from what ive seen here on the forum is that my headlights now have bixenon with a projector (i hope this is the correct english term).
i'll let the pictures speak for themselves. tell me what you think.

i bought them from some boys here in romania...
i don't really know where they get them. the installation is pretty hard tough. you have to warm up the headlights, then at a high temperature get the window out and after that you can put the projector inside. it has the "tail" of a lightbulb, so it will fit perfectly. the rest of the xenon installation is just like all of them.

if you guys are interested i'd be happy to help you with a group buy and send them to england because from where i've bought them, they don't bother sending to other countries.
ill make some photos tomorrow when there's light outside and show you guys how it looks like in daylight.

i'm sorry i didn't take photos during the process.

the idea is very simple:
1. take off the front bumper
2. take off the headlights
3. with a very hot air fan you can unglue the front glass. after this you unscrew the metal VW shaped thing.
4. you simply put the projector inside the headlight and you screw it in. (there is a projector for every kind of lightbulb H1, H7, H4... etc)
5. after this you have to seal the headlight back. i did this with a hot silicone pistol.
6. next you have to do the wires. you have to connect the high beam to the projector. i recommend doing this by someone who knows his electrics because you can set the car on fire if its not done correctly :D optional you can connect the provided angel eye. i didn't do this because it would have looked silly with only one on each side :D
7. connect the xenon ballasts and you're ready.
8. put the headlights back on the car and then enjoy :D

below you have a romanian site which sells this things. even tough it's in romanian, you have there some photos of an installation from a TOYOTA....
