ATTENTION: VW Service Price Match Offer - SAVE MONEY!
Re: ATTENTION: VW Service Price Match Offer - SAVE MONEY!
Just to illustrate the point of the price match offer, I am getting the timing belt (including all tensioners and metal impellar water pump) changed all for £200 dead in the coming weeks. I didn't have to get a written quote for them to match this time, we simply haggled a little
I know some will say this isn't totally competitive - but IMHO this is very good value for money for a main dealer to do the work.

Re: ATTENTION: VW Service Price Match Offer - SAVE MONEY!
Just a quick concern. My 2002 Polo 1.2 is just about to tick over to 53k and will need its 10k service in about 2,000 miles. The last service was done by B.E.T.S Service Centre, Cardiff and I wasn't too pleased with the outcome and the car has been wierd ever since (brakes give a really high pitch squeal and a slight grinding sound under light pressure, told pads are fine and basically to put up with it! Also, there is an obvious leak on the exhaust seeing that when the car runs, its sounds like a diesel and mines petrol!!!
The point I'm trying to make is I'm happy to have VW have a look at this, but are they going to fix these and then 'try' and find problems with other parts or am I being silly? I would be using Sinclair VW in Cardiff and of course take full advantage of Price Match!!
Thanks,
MIke

Let them find problems - if they do crop up, just decline to have them fixed there and then, but rather get an estimate from them. Source an indy, tlak to him about the 'problems' VW have identified and see if he will give you a written quote. If you want to, then go back to VW and ask them to match that quotefoodie90 wrote: The point I'm trying to make is I'm happy to have VW have a look at this, but are they going to fix these and then 'try' and find problems with other parts or am I being silly? In this offer I have saved close to £500 if I had gone to VW just for this work!
Re: ATTENTION: VW Service Price Match Offer - SAVE MONEY!
I have now booked the car into The Welsh Volkswagen Specialists, Penarth.
Service will cost £130 and that is verging on a full service and they'll take a look at the brakes and exhaust too which I think isn't too bad?

Don't know if the offer is still running (as an aside noticed my local BMW Dealer will match any local BMW Indy...) but if you wanted, you could get that quote in writing and book it into your local Dealer. All comes down to what you are happy with. Using this offer my Mother got Indy Pricing and Main Dealer work. Best of both worlds IMHO.
