Post by ryandel »

it only happens at low speeds even more when am coming up to a junction.
sounds as if something is swinging and hitting something?

Right, I think that you might have TCA rear voided bush problems, I'm just guessing from what you have written! So, how to narrow this down a bit, if this is the problem, park on level ground with handbrake on and out of gear - grab each front wheel and try to move it forwards and backwards, if it moves "quite a bit" and you get a rubbery noise then one or both are damaged. Next, while driving, does this knocking make its presence felt while going on/off throttle? Also maybe when crossing kerbs and speed bumps? The other area you need to look at are the drop links (ARB to strut) - well known for wearing out at low mileage.

What age/miles engine have you got, also if you have TCA voided bush problems, then consider getting them replaced with the Ibiza Cupra solid bushes and you will not need to replace them again.
