BMC CDA Air intake

Post by jezza »

Been looking at them on venom motorsport cause there cheaper than anywhere at the moment but they dont do one for my 1.6. Would there any difference between the 1.4, 1.4 16v or the 1.6gti?

Here's the page im looking at for more reference.

Cheers!

Yes I would imagine they have different diameters. The GTi one suits the 63mm TB on the GTi, so the BMC is around 60-70mm. I would've thought the 1.4 one would be smaller.

Out of interest could you fit one of these to a 1.0L? And if you can, would it actually make any difference?

Cant see why not as long as you know the diameter of your throttle body. Not sure what difference it would make but it will make a nice sound.

I am considering of buying the one in the for sale section but was wondering if these filters have a breather pipe still? Any one who has one could they give me some more info, also the one for sale is a gti one but there is no difference in them, just the size on the elbow that comes with them. On the bmc website it says up to 1.6 are all the same with a 70mm connector to the tb and above 1.6 is 85mm. Have found a 70mm>51mm elbow just need to know about the breather pipe. Cheers.
