I know that this will be a really easy question for someone to answer, but i'm CRAP at under bonnet stuff.
I've seen an aluminium oil filler cap advertised at it says "suitable for all 4cyl VW engines" will this fit my Mk4 1.4 8v Polo?

Also, I have fitted a new handbrake sleeve and gaiter, but I have not managed to tuck it in to the hard plastic casing at the bottom of the handbrake lever, is it possible to remove this as I don't want to knacker it up trying if you can't
Cheers
Steve

The cap should fit your engine, if not - send it back. They claim it's for all engines, so....
The hand brake thing can in fact be removed but it's a PITA. Seriously. The thing is clipped in place, so the way to remove it, is to pull it upwards, starting with the back bit. You'll break it probably, but the new piece is only 2 quid or so. Putting it back in place is easy btw. Just push it into the clip retainers and presto.

taking off the bump strips is the most irratating job eva i done it last weekend tell u how i donw it heat up the bumpstrip use some fish gut to get behind it and get em off and youl be left wi $hit loads o foam and ahedsive stuck behind it best way i found to get it off is hot soapy water and an old bak card or somethign like that
Interiors should be kept within a style/theme IMHO, so I'd advise against spraying stuff in an exterior colour. It can end up looking quite tasteless quite easily to be honest. But, if your dash is covered in cream alcantara (for instance) it makes sense to match the trim in cream as well. Just my two Eurocents, don't let it stop you though!StevePolo wrote:Cheers mate,
Sounds like another job for the weekend then, along with putting some new pedals on, debaging and getting rid of the bumpstrips on the sides. I was alaso thinking of spraying the speaker covers on the dash and doors silver to match the car, any thoughts?
