Only down side is they handle s*** as standard!

Once this is sorted there great....like the others say......mini are horrible in my opinion and far far to commen....im from Leicester and i have never truthfully seen another gti here and its a quite a big city. Which is good. You do get mistaken for a golf which pi***s you off lol besides that.....perfect.

If you get one in Nottingham your probably going to be the one closest to me :D
The odd thing is, my name is Alex and i'm after a white GTI :|

It is really tempting to get one! What are they like on the motorway i.e. taking it easy at 70mph?

Shame they don't have 6 gears, cruise control, xenons and the option of a LSD......but for some reason i'm still swaying towards the GTI.

Criuse control is overrated, plus can be easily installed.

Xenons also only ask for £80 for a top set!

Nope, they don't need to be for HIDs.

But you can also get projectors for them.

Oh! I was under the impression to fit HID's they should be projector style, have washer jets and also be auto-levelling?

That's that covered then.

Driving at 70 on the motorway, are the revs quite high?

The people I have met with Minis only want to get rid of them .. too many problems...

We had one in the other day with knackered supercharger.. we fitted a new one... and of course I took it up the road.... few hundred yards was enough.. turned it round .. went back... parked it up ... thought it would be a fun fast car... WRONG.. zzzzzzzzz

bonus... More-BHP stage 1 for the little Polo is just £150 for UKPolos members ;-)

another bonus ... all the guys'n'girls on here are really friendly and helpful ... so not only will you enjoy the Polo GTI you will also enjoy our little community :-)

Already been on your website and had a look at the remaps, can't argue with £150 for 40bhp? and X lb ft torque?

Where is it you're located again?

I get loads of guys coming over from Notts for the good prices i do... its a nice run for you... especially the drive home...

Thing is about the little Polo is that there is so much potential.... sure maximising potential will cost you money... but costs arent that bad really....

We all spend our hard earned here ... guess its like an addiction ... but that is how the Polo grabs you ....

Are there any disadvantages to the GTI?

A disadvantage would be not having one

.... Or even worse buying a Mini, Seeing a GTI in the street and realising you'd brought the wrong car :(

On a serious note thou >>
Standard brakes aren't fantastic, but can easily and very cheaply be upgraded to a 312mm setup as all just bolts on... lots of people have done this.

Gillen,
If your down in Peterborough at all i'm i've got more-bhp stage2 tuned polo if your wanting to see what tuned stuff is all about... I'm sure there must be someone near notts thou :)

Hey mate....sit quite well at motorway speeds.....but mines stage 2 at the moment so this alters revs and what they do in each gear etc etc. But used to drive nicely on the motorway....supprisingly quiet and smooth as standard.

Im actually going stoke on saturday.....i can swing by and take you for a spin as you only a few junctions up the M1.

You will deffonatly choose a polo then lol :D
