Pictures of the 2 polos - aberdeen
Thought i'd get some pictures up here....think thats me done in terms of modding. Not sure if my mates finished with his (black one). An exhaust did cross ma mind but I thought it might be too much hassle with the rear skirt?

lol Everyones entitled to their opinion!! Obviously I did realise before I bought them, that anything 'non-vw' wouldnt necessarily be appreciated on vw fansite..However I think my car looks amazing!!speedsix wrote:Lol ma mate would'nt be too pleased about the response to his new wheelsryandel wrote:silver one is looking good.

The whole point of modding is to try and make ur car look as individual as possible.. Thats what ive been trying to do from the start.. All the good VAG wheels out there, have already been done, I didnt want the car to be just 'another Polo with TT Comps'. Most of the VAG wheels are 2nd hand and need a refurb. I was thinking of Porsche wheels but if u use the car as a daily most of them are too wide and cause problems . The width, ET, colour and quality of these wheels (4me) are spot on!! I can get full-lock and I hardly get any rubbing!
Ive tried to keep a chrome theme going: The front chrome grill, on the sides black on chrome wheels and at the back the exhaust. And I think they make the car special and stand out from the crowd Im pretty pleased! lol

I'd disagree. I'd say it's all about making your car look and perform to it's best potential. I've never given time for who has done what to their car, if it looks good who cares how many people have done it in the past. I think it's a major downfall for a car when the owner puts individuality before good looks, comfort and functionality, just to be different.abdnmoh wrote: The whole point of modding is to try and make ur car look as individual as possible.. ]
Re: Pictures of the 2 polos - aberdeen
I respect ur point of view on this but I wouldnt want to spend that much money (on extras) on my car and end up having a car that looks like 'joe bloggs' car down the street. For me its all about expressing urself, within ur means. Its about coming up with new things, I doubt it if any of the owners of THESE cars (not that my wee polo is in their league) thought about copying something that someone else had..
I think its important that owners try new things all the time!!
Yes I agree with u, 'comfort and functionality' are important and these two factors decide whether the individual mod is workable in the long run. And im sure most ppl would choose to spend money on a mod that increases the functionality of the car as well as the looks over just looks. Im not saying that ppl should have cutlary glued on to their cars to make it look individual, but something that makes it stand out from the crowd..Ive only changed the wheels its not like ive done this..lol
