how does the button thingy work behind the drivers seat?? my keyfob-r/c/l has broken and at the moment cant afford to fix it. but when i unlock with the key i can't open the passenger door without the alarm goin off? how can i stop this, or discoonect the alarm altogether lol?

anybody know? :D

If you switch on the ignition within 30seconds that should deactivate the alarm.

with mine i have to unlock the door, jump in and start straight away, can't leave it at all..........

bit annoying having to make the mrs stand outside while i start it lmao :lol:

Button behind the driver's seat de-activates/activates the interior sensors. For use if you had kids or a pet in the car when locked.

I'd get your remote sorted as soon as possible. It's probably just a battery. Take it to VW, the batteries cost around £3 and ask them nicely to do it there for you. Chances are if they encounter a further problem they'll just sort it out there for you no charge. Or maybe I just have a nice dealer.

For now, to save embarrassment try this:

upon unlocking the car, twist the key in the lock to unlock, but hold it there in teh left position, the window should come down. Pop the key in the ignition from here and it'll de-activate the alarm. This way you don't set it off, or leave the missus in the cold!

yeah i've been to vw but mill awful have fried the electronics in the key lol.

i'll give that a try tonight thanks tim!! :D
